3 Droplets of Leadership
People Aren’t Meant to Talk This Much
The internet has many issues, but the root of many is that we are constantly communicating with one another. Before the advent of online tools, people spoke less often and with fewer people. The average person had a few conversations a day, and the largest group they addressed was likely a wedding reception or a company meeting, with a maximum of a few hundred people. There were few ways to amplify their words and spread beyond the original context.
It is essential to consider the possibility that there should be limits to the amount and frequency of communication people can have online.

1 Atom of Reflection
I recently spoke with a manager worried about being too easy on their team, a concern raised by a business associate. It made me wonder why softness is viewed as an issue. Many believe that success in business requires strength, severity, and aggression.
But is that accurate?
Being kind or soft isn't inherently problematic.
Yet, it might allow others to exploit your goodwill. Doesn't this risk also exist when interacting with severe individuals?
Today, I encourage you not to equate effectiveness with aggression, power, and volume.
You can be soft, gentle, kind, and highly effective manager or executive.
I recently published a TikTok about it. You might want to check it out.
