3 Droplets of Leadership
Want to get great at something? Get a coach
How can we get better when things are complex? Atul Gawande delved into this question with the meticulousness of a surgeon. He discovered the answer: a great coach. A coach gives us a clearer understanding of our situation. They help us develop good thought patterns. They dissect our actions and guide us in reassembling them. Gawande emphasizes, "Your current skill level isn't what's important. What matters is how much you can improve."

Ted Gioia's 10 Rules for Public Speaking
I loved this list of rules for public speaking by Ted Gioia. Many break the usual rules of public speaking, and they are great. Standing out often has a more substantial effect.
These rules have repeatedly shown their worth to me, even in challenging situations with a lot at risk.
It's good that someone could put them on a neat list. Don't miss them!
Kicking the Can Down the Road
Often, leaders delay tough decisions. Instead of deciding, they push the problem ahead. This is easy to understand and could be a severe problem. If leaders delay decisions too long, someone else might decide for them. This may not always benefit the leader.

Good point. Sometimes waiting pays off as the problem will solve itself one way or another. But this point distills the risk that comes with it. Waiting might backfire and you might end up worse than you started.
