The Incompetent AI
My take on the narrative of humans getting replaced by AI
An AI, to replace a human being should be able to change a diaper ❌, plan an invasion ⚠️, butcher a hog ❌, conn a ship ⚠️, design a building ⚠️, write a sonnet ✅, balance accounts ✅, build a wall ❌, set a bone ❌, comfort the dying ❌, take orders ✅, give orders ⚠️, cooperate ⚠️, act alone ⚠️, solve equations ✅, analyze a new problem ⚠️, pitch manure ❌, program a computer ✅, cook a tasty meal ❌, fight efficiently ❌, die gallantly ❌. Specialization is for AInsects.
I’ve often referred to “The Competent Man”, a poem by Robert A. Heinlein, as a source of inspiration for a variety of conversations.
I just adapted the poem for a quick check of AI’s current capabilities (it’s not meant to be scientifically accurate).
Based on my assessments, we are far from being replaced.
